I am a drama school graduate (1990, Prague Academy of Performing Arts, DAMU). Dubbing training was part of the course and we also used to make a bit of extra money doing dubbing for Czech TV. I spent the best part of the 1990s living abroad, studying English and French and taking care of a growing family. During my short stays back in Prague, between 1992 - 1999, I acted in Divadlo Semafor and Exposure Theater, presented my own regular weekly programme at Radio Prague International and interpreted for foreign film crews shooting in the Czech Republic. However, my main professional career has been in translating and interpreting (25+ years), including film translations for dubbing and subtitles which has provided an enjoyable creative blend of translating and acting - to make the lines fit the dubbing actors´ lips, I usually end up acting out all the characters during the translation process. I am now keen to bring together my acting qualification and my extensive translating experience and start dubbing for real, not just for myself while translating. ¨ I often get approached by complete strangers after reading Scriptures and Passions in church, which I have been doing for many years, asking me if by any chance I do dubbing, and why don´t I ... so I´ve decided to give it a go.
